Hi, I downloaded Vista from MSDN. I tried to installed VISTA on my GateWay 350WVN laptop. After booting from CD for install, in 1 minute, I get this following error with Blue Screen. "The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant. Please concat your system vendor for an updated BIOS. Technical Information: ***STOP: 0x000000A5 ( 0x00000011, 0x00000007, 0xFFD0D010, 0x0100000E)" This Laptop is released by Gateway in the end of 2004. The BIOS has May 2004 date. This is the latest BIOS availabel at Gateway support site. I tried December CTP, same issue, Sepetmber CTP same issue. But the 1st Beta 1 relased in July, installed fine. Since BIOS is new, I am wondering why I am getthing this error. Is there a way to disable this error. Any help would be greately appreciated. Thanks, Sri

Not Fully ACPI Compliant - Issue
Maybe the old version of the BIOS actually worked? But I don't think you can revert to an old version of BIOS can you?

Yes, you "can" flash back to an older bios. I have done it a few times.

Hi, Thanks for the repsonses. I can install July Vista Beta 1 successfully on old BIOS and as well on the new BIOS. The CTP released after that are given the error related to ACPI compliant. XP works fine on that laptop. So, I guess, the latest CTP are checking something different than XP and Beta 1. I will go thru the the Xp article and try and let you all know. Thanks for your help.
